A job...definitely

Well I did get that job after all and it is hard. I have been working for two days and I never thought it would be this hard. Not just the job but being away from the kids.

I do have to say that when I do get home they are so excited to see me. Mia even squeals with happiness. Oh and I get the biggest hugs from Jack so I guess in the long run it is good for us all. I just have to keep remembering this.

So along with starting my first real job since having my babies, I have also had to look into day cares for the little ones. I never imagine how expensive it would be. When jack was born my mom drove to our house and watched him. When I had my on call job at Edward Jones, the mom's/grandma's alternated coming over. Now I have to find child care which I have always wanting them to go. I just never imagine the cost. I now know why some people don't go back to work. It can be as much as a months paycheck.

So I did look at three different ones. Really two, since the third one did not take kids under 30 months. And now the decision. Do I choose the one where it is nice and the class rooms are big and more school like or do I decide to go to the one where there is
A swimming pool and closer to work . Oh and the closer one is cheaper too. So this week I have to decide on which on the kids will go to. Oh and also how to do my job. The system is a little tricky and I'm just not used to it. I just hope I don't screw anything up.

A job....maybe

These two are the reasons I do and do not want to work.

Here are I don't want to work:
1. I will miss things. I have been lucky enough that I have gotten to stay home the last two years and raise Thea little ones.

2. I love to cook and bake. Some of the things I make take time to do. Guess I will have to crockpot more. Which this also means I will have leftovers for dinner.

3.  Who is going to do the cleaning while I am away?  Oh wait, the kids are the ones who make most of the mess and they also will be gone for the day.  Hmmm.  This may be both a reason I do and do not want to work.

4.  Less people at stores especially the grocery store.

5.  Paying someone else to have fun with my little ones all day.

6. I'm going to miss my little humans. I love being their mommy. They are my best creations.

Here are reasons why I want to work:
1. These little people. As much as I love them to death, I think it would be good for them to socialize more and maybe even miss me a little.

2. Money of course.

3. Adult conversation. Yup. I get very little adult conversation in a day. I feel bad for the people who ask me a question at the supermarket. Why? Because I talk their ears off. Oh and as soon as my husband gets home, I think he is sick of hearing my voice within 15 minutes after he walks through the door.

If you are asking why I don't try structured mommy and kid classes, oh I have.  I have tried going to Gymboree but it seems like high school all over. Some of the mommies have been going there since their child was born so they talk to each other.  The only person who seems to talk to me is the teacher.  Woohoo.

4.  Cleaner house since the three of us won't be home in a day.

So the reason for this post is that I had a job interview today and if everything pans out and my background check checks out I will have to be away from my babies for 9 hours a day 5 days a week. I am having a hard time with this decision and am hoping that this will be a good thing for all of us.

Holy kid hurricane

I had big plans today. We were going to go to OMSI and hang out there for awhile.  Maybe even try to go to the bigger kids exhibit. Oh and then after go have lunch  or maybe even go to the husbands work and have lunch with him. Then I looked around the house .....Didn't I just clean the house last night? It is amazing how two kids can destroy a house in less than 12 hours.  I guess I should be happy that we have a small house to begin with.

Here is just the down stairs.  And this is after I swept up all the popcorn my daughter dumped on the floor and the milk that had spilled.  I thought of writing a blog after I had already worked on their room.  Yes, my kids share a room due to our condo being just two rooms.  But I love that they share a room.  One room to clean plus I think that this also makes them have to play together.

Can I just show you two of my favorite cleaning tools that I own?  Okay, you already see the picture.  Meet my Shark steam mop and my Shark vacuum.  The vacuum gets used EVERYDAY.  Why?  Didn't I just mention that I have two kids who are the Tasmania devil reincarnated?  So the vacuum is great since it has NO CORD.  Nothing to trip on and easy to glide down the hall and around the kitchen and living room.  Oh and it gets used in the bathroom since sometimes the kitty litter goes every where.  Please don't mind the electrical tape around the handle.  Besides that, it is perfect and if it ever breaks, I will get another one.  (And please, if you have one and think they suck, I don't care.  These are my opinions and that is all that matters.

Then we have the wonderful steam mop.  We live in Oregon and it is the rainy season.  Okay, so most of the year it is the rainy season so this thing gets used a lot.  Especially since people don't seem to take their shoes off when they come into our house.  I even have a sign at the door. I know that most people find this odd but again, I have a three year old and a one year old.  They were crawling and I hate thinking of all the dirt and grossness they would have been crawling through and then them putting their tiny hands into their little mouths.  Kind of vomiting in my mouth as I write this.

Okay, back on track.  So as you can see, the pad that is currently on the steam mop is dirt.  That is because I used it today.  Why, okay, so the floor has seen applesauce, orange pop (yup, the bad mom in me gave my son orange pop), popcorn and anything else my kids have eaten or drank today.  Oh and milk too that my daughter was drinking.

Well I just heard something falling to the floor, probably the chex cereal that I just gave her.  Time to go clean again.  So glad I recharged my Shark battery while Mia was asleep.

I think my next post should be about how many train sets my son has.  Luckily we have a train table in their room that has two big drawers.

Trip to the zoo

Today was a great day to go to the zoo. For us Oregonians, we rarely get beautiful sunny days in February. So to mark the occasion we decided to go to the zoo. Really it was my cousin text messaging me asking if we would like to go. How could we say no? We usually go by ourselves so it was a nice change going with someone who I can talk to.  Can I just say that having another adult with us is nice.  It nice that I can have an adult conversation and not just telling Jack "okay, I'm leaving" and him yelling "no" and finally listening to me.

Four kids all looking in a different way.

So you would think going to the zoo with four kids would be difficult, which it is, but it was fun. The smallest two were the easiest since they stayed in the stroller/wagon. Mia was not real interested to get out of her stroller. The few times I tried to get her to walk around she was so not interested.

My cousin was even nice enough to share her food. And yes, I did bring my own food for my kids but for some reason my kids think other peoples food is so much better and tastier. But isn't that always the way? But next time I will bring more variety. Or maybe I needed more time to prepare. It is so hard to get two kids and me ready in less than an hour. Oh well.

Gotta love a PB & J

First Post.....

I really feel like the first post should be profound and explain why I decided to start doing a blog AGAIN.  Yup, I had a blog.  It was when I was pregnant with my son and I think I may have blogged until he was 7 month old but then just stopped because I hated uploading photos.

So you ask why I am starting up again? It's the IPhone and how there is an app for this wonderful blogging world.  I no longer have to take the photo, download them to the computer, and then upload them to blogger.  Hopefully it is as easy as it sounds.

So this blog will be random stuff, from my crazy kids, to my stress reliever known as crafts, to cooking/baking oh and the occasionally messy mess my kids have done to our house.

Hopefully you enjoy my crazy world.
